I support editors within the applicable rules and frameworks in doing background research, often on persons. My expertise can often provide just that little bit extra, making an item or programme just that little bit better or providing more clarity on an issue. Database research, but also research on location or observation has proved to be an added value for many television producers in recent years. Investigating is a profession, a specialism. By looking at certain files and issues through the eyes of a detective, a different perspective often emerges and other information comes to light. This often provides just that little bit of information that can accelerate a case.
