Once a seller of counterfeit goods has been identified, it is obviously important to get this seller to cease and desist his activities. In civil law, a trademark owner is entitled to damages when intellectual property rights are infringed. This can be enforced in court, but in the vast majority of cases, such compensation can also be achieved through an amicable settlement.

Interro Recherchediensten supports trademark owners in this process. By sending summonses and other documents, an agreement can be reached with an infringer. The aim is to have the infringer pay all costs of the investigation and possible additional damage. In the most ideal situation, combating counterfeiting by Interro is (virtually) cost-neutral for the trademark owner.
